Our camera is with Mike at work right now, so I have no pictures for you. But here's a quick update on what we've been doing. Last Wednesday was Mike's birthday - the big 30. Six of us (Mike and I, Mike's sister Jean, and our friends Davio, Paul and Jen) went in the evening to Woodbine Race Track to bet on the horses. It was a tonne of fun. There was a race about every 20 minutes, so there was time in between to chat and grab some food (and of course get your bets in for the next race). Mike and Jean did the best on a horse named Whisky Swish (picked by them for their father's love of scotch). He had terrible odds, which meant they were great odds for Mike and Jean when he won.

Friday night we had a family birthday at East Side Mario's. It was Mike's parents, Jean, Don, Lorraine and Will as well as my parents, Dana, Jason, Hannah, Jack and Henry. A big group which was really nice. Everyone came back to the house for cake and ice cream and presents. Mike and I have been watching the second season of The Office since the moment he opened it from Dana and Jason. What a great show!

Sunday Mike and I walked 5km in the Terry Fox run. This is Bennett's second year participating. Maybe next year he'll get to walk it, rather than getting pushed along in his stroller.

Tomorrow is Mike's shoulder surgery. We head to Markham Stouffville Hospital for 11am. The surgery is from 1 until 2:30, and then he stays overnight one night. I'll keep you posted on how it all goes.

30, eh? Man, oh man! Congratulations, Mike. 30's are fun 'cause you've still got plenty of youthful energy, but people have to take you a little more seriously. Good luck with the surgery. Keep us posted, Eri.
